Zur Ermittlung der Kostendifferenz zwischen dem Ursprungs- und dem Gastland wird ein repräsentativer Warenkorb – bestehend aus Waren und Dienstleistungen – verwendet. Ein traditioneller Warenkorb enthält im Wesentlichen die folgenden Kategorien: Esswaren (zu Hause sowie im Restaurant), Tabak und alkoholische Getränke, Hygiene- und Gesundheitsprodukte, Haushaltsartikel, Kleidung, Kommunikation, Freizeit und Kultur sowie Transportmittel
