Ratio reflecting the differences in cost of living between two cities. Can vary according to the basket and calculation methodology used. The home location index is often denoted with a base of 100. If the index of the host location is higher than 100, the living costs in the host country are higher than in the home location. Likewise, if the host location index is lower than 100, the living costs in the host location are lower, compared to the home location

Der Index im Ursprungsort wird oft als Basis mit 100 bestimmt. Ist der Index des Gastortes grösser als 100, sind die Lebenshaltungskosten im Gastort höher. Ist dagegen der Index des Gastortes tiefer als 100, sind die Lebenshaltungskosten im Gastort niedriger als im Ursprungsort
